While I was on Facebook the other day May 6, 2025, I had a post from one of my favorite artist Amy Lee from Evanescence she was doing a collaboration with Halsey for the movie Ballerina with is part of the John Wick universe. The song is Hand that feeds and it was coming out on May 9, 2025. I was so excited since it had been a long time since I heard anything new from Amy Lee.

 

 

On May 9^th I went to looking for the song to listen to it and find out where it can be listien on and brought from. On Amy Lee’s page you can find the song link for vevo the song is 3:08 mins long and there is a picture with the lyrics. You can also listen to it on Spotify with a subscription, YouTube, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Pandora, Sound Cloud and Amazon music and it aslo can be bought on Amazon music for $1.29. There isnt a music video yet but there is a live performance debut on YouTube.

 

I went and listened to the song, and I wasn’t disappointed. I found the song was an excellent mixture of both Halsey and Amy Lee. They did a great job together and I made sure to go the Amazon music and purchased the song and added it to my car playlist. I even made my son, and my mom listen to it. My son said it was good, and my mom said it wasn’t for her.

I checked out the Live version of Hand that feeds and found out that Amy Lee’s band Evanesces was backing them up on stage with them. I found out while researching Halsey that I came across a post on her Instagram about how she has been a fan of Amy Lee since she was 11 and it is also the first time, they both have worked together. Amy Lee is also a fan of Halsey, so this made for a great team.

 

 

Hand that feeds was written by Amy Lee, Halsey, Griff Clawson, Jordan Fish and Micheal Pollack and produced by Jordan Fish.

I didn’t know that Amy Lee and Evanescence had a hard time with the record label and that she had gone through a lot of trauma throughout her life which involved losing sibling to death.  Some of her songs are inspired by her brother who passed away.  They also hard a hacktivist site going after them putting a lot of hate out there about the band.

 A little about the movie that it is a part of. Ballerina which is part of the John Wick world. The movie takes place during john Wick 3. It’s about a ballerina that wants revenge for her father death, so she becomes an assassin of the Ruska Rona tradition. It’s an Action/ Thriller and runs 2 hours and 5 minutes long. It is set to come out June 6, 2025.

With it being newly out I haven’t been able to find reviews on the song and I’m sure there will be mixed reviews when it has been out long enough. For me this a awesome song and was so excited to be able to hear it when it came out instead of down the road months or years later. Both Halsey and Amy Less did a great job and I hope they get to work together again. I hope dear readers that will like the song too so please check it out.

January 13, 2025, a new show on TLC premiered called Baylen Out Loud. This reality show chronicles the life of influencer Baylen Dupree, who lives with Tourette Syndrome.  The first season is done and originally aired on Monday nights 9/8c and could be watched at times throughout the week to catch up on the episodes you missed, or you could also watch it on Max on Tuesdays.

The shows depict her life with her family, her boyfriend/fiancé and her friends in her life. As she goes through her day you see her tic which can be mild to

extreme, and anything can become a tic with Tourette’s.  She can go into a seizure like tic and her outburst can be inappropriate to silly and funny.  She became an influencer to advocate for what it’s like with Tourette’s. On top of having Tourette’s, she also has OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), Anxiety and Coprolalia- the involuntary production of inappropriate words. She was diagnosed at 17 during covid 19 but had shown signs around age 6 or 7.

The first seasons focuses on three main areas of her life. She wants to be independent and live on her own but must show to her family she can do it. She and her boyfriend Colin Dooley are searching for an apartment to together.

With her being an influencer on TikTok and Instagram she was invited to be on the panel at Tic Con 2024 in Dallas Texas.  While at Tic Con, she makes new friends and looks at treatment options.

The big ending to the season is about her boyfriend Colin Dooley and how he sets up a proposal for marriage.

The show has been renewed for a second season but nothing about when it will be back.

I feel the show has done a good job of telling Baylen’s story and bring awareness to Tourette’s. You get to see in the show how others react to her tics and how it makes her and her family feel about what others think. They also do a good job of showing how it affects her family and those around her. I hope next season is as good as the first season.

There are many that are criticizing the show and how it is fake or how she is acting that it is scripted. The show has an IMDb rating of 7.6/10 and on Rotten tomato the show is there but has no rating. It’s only been 4 months since it has aired so it might need more time to get more ratings which season 2 can help with that. I like the show and like how she is helping to bring awareness to Tourette’s since the only other time I have seen it brought to light is in a movie Front of the Class and there is an author Richard Paul Evens about Michael Vey that a teenager with Tourette’s.
